Tailor-made itineraries are built entirely around you — your interests, pace, budget, and the specific towns or regions you want to experience. Nothing is pre-set; every stop, hotel, and day is chosen to fit your trip.

Classic itineraries draw on routes we've already developed — combinations of cities, towns, and regions we know pair well together, with the stops worth prioritizing already mapped out. This gives you a proven starting framework rather than a blank page.

Either way, the itinerary is still customized to you: your group size, travel dates, priorities, activity level, and budget all shape the final version — a classic itinerary isn't something we just hand over. And behind both approaches sits the same core work: confirming budget, booking travel, sourcing hotels, arranging transfers and tours, and coordinating every detail for your specific group.

We recommend beginning 9–12 months before your intended travel dates. This provides greater choice when securing preferred accommodations, transportation, tours, and experiences, particularly during summer, public holidays, and other high-demand periods.

Some trips can be planned within a shorter timeframe, depending on the destination, season, complexity, and availability. Please note that with less than 30 days to travel, accommodation, transportation, and other travel costs tend to be higher, and options are more limited. Travel documents and entry requirements depend on each traveller's citizenship, residency, trip length, purpose of travel, and itinerary. During the planning process, Italy to Roam will provide guidance relevant to your trip and direct you to the appropriate official sources for current requirements.

Because entry rules can change, every traveller should confirm that their passport, visa, authorization, driving documents, and any other required documentation remain valid before departure.

While travelling, the support available will depend on the services and arrangements included in your itinerary and proposal. This may include contact information for relevant suppliers, local professionals, hotel concierge services, tour providers, drivers, or other travel contacts where applicable.

We will explain how to reach us and who else to contact if you need assistance during your trip.

The total cost of a trip to Italy depends on your destinations, the season, length of stay, number of travellers, accommodations, transportation, activities, and preferred level of service.

In addition to the cost of the travel arrangements themselves, professional service fees may apply for the planning, research, coordination, and advisory work involved in your trip or event. Supplier charges, booking-related charges, insurance costs, taxes, and other applicable costs may also be included in the overall cost, depending on the services selected.

Yes. Italy to Roam charges a professional travel-planning fee that covers the time and expertise required to research, design, coordinate, and support your personalized itinerary.

The amount depends on the scope of what you need — factors like the number of destinations and regions involved, the length of your trip, how many travellers we're planning for, how much custom sourcing and coordination the trip requires (private tours, unique accommodations, special access, event elements), and your timeline.

We start every engagement with a complimentary 20-minute introductory conversation. From there, we'll confirm your fee based on the factors outlined above.

Where travel services are involved, that component is handled through Italy to Roam's relationship with Luv to Travel Inc., a TICO-registered travel agency.

The travel-planning fee is due before work begins and is non-refundable. It's separate from the cost of accommodations, transportation, tours, activities, insurance, and other travel arrangements.

Travel insurance is advisable when travelling abroad and may help protect against unexpected medical expenses, trip cancellation or interruption, and other unforeseen events.

Where applicable, travel insurance options are available through Luv to Travel Inc. as part of the travel-booking process. You can choose whether to purchase the coverage offered, and the applicable information will be provided before your booking is confirmed.
